The Razor electric scooter can be one of the most enjoyable forms of entertainment for yourself or your kids. I, myself, have four kids and I want them to have as much fun as possible while they are young. At the same time, I want to make sure that everything I provide for them to do is safe. With the Razor electric scooter I wanted to make sure that it was a quality product, safe and also affordable. My kids range in age from 8-16 and I needed something we could all spend time as a family and do together.

Well, the Razor electric scooter comes in three different models; E100, E200 and E300. So after checking out the details on all three models of these scooters, I realized this is something we could all do together because the scooters are specifically designed for different age and weight groups. There are varying qualities on each model and I will take a look at each of these in my reviews below. But my main concern, as yours should be, is safety.

Razor Electric Scooter Safety

The first thing I want to cover is Razor electric scooter safety. This is a very important factor for me as my children’s safety is always my number one concern. I will be covering the differences in the Razor electric scooter E100, E200 and E300 in their respective reviews below but this safety information will cover all three Razor electric scooter models and pretty much all scooters, motorcycles and bicycles in general.

First of all, you should always wear a helmet. If you’re a parent as I am, you should never let your children ride a Razor electric scooter without a helmet as it can be the difference between an unhurt child or serious injury or even death. Pads can also be worn as an extra safety precaution. If an accident was to occur you would be extremely happy that you had these.

Do not exceed the maximum recommended weight. Make sure the handlebars of the Razor electric scooter are adjusted to proper comfortable heights for the size of the rider. A comfortable ride makes for less chance of an accident happening.

The Razor electric scooter has won a Parent’s Choice award for safety. The decks and frames appear to be very well-made and do not break easily. The tires have excellent traction so they will not slip on the pavement. As always, you should check all local rules and regulations before riding the scooter and be sure to take extra precautions if you are riding in the rain or on wet or slippery pavement.

Razor Electric Scooter E100 Review

The Razor electric scooter E100 is the smallest of the three scooters I checked out. It can reach speeds of up to 10mph and can hold a rider of up to 120 lbs. The hand-operated front brake is easy to use and slows the scooter quickly. It runs off of two 12-volt batteries and with a full charge (takes approximately eight hours to fully charge) you can expect around forty minutes of ride time. This scooter is simple to start. You get the scooter rolling and once you reach 3 mph the belt-driven motor will kick on and away you go. Use the twist-grip throttle to increase your speed.

The Razor electric scooter E100 is designed for ages eight and up. This was perfect for my youngest son as he was a beginner and wasn’t ready for the higher-powered scooters such as the next model, the E200. At just over $100 this is a very affordable price for such a quality Razor electric scooter. There is some assembly required but for most adults this should take 15 minutes or less.

Razor Electric Scooter E200 Review

The Razor electric scooter E200 is for ages thirteen and older and with a weight limit of 220 lbs. it will be able to handle most teenagers and adults. It can reach speeds of 12 mph and after an eight hour charge you can get around 45 minutes of ride time. It runs on two 12-volt batteries and, unlike the Razor electric scooter E100, it has a hand-operated rear brake. The 8″ pneumatic tires provide an extremely smooth ride. It doesn’t lose too much power on uphill climbs and it handles well on turns. Like the E100 it features a belt-driven motor that is extremely quiet. This is important especially if it is a child that is riding this scooter. Loud engine noises can cause distractions or muffle the noises of other vehicles that could possibly cause a dangerous situation.

At just over $150 it is very affordable, as a matter of fact this is an excellent deal for this higher-powered Razor electric scooter. There is a little assembly required but, as with the E100, for most adults this should only take around 15 minutes or less.

Razor Electric Scooter E300 Review

Now on to the biggest, baddest Razor electric scooter, the E300. This scooter can fly at speeds up to 15 mph on extra wide 10″ pneumatic tires that glide across the pavement. Uphill or downhill, even around corners, this bad boy will move! Like the E200, the E300 has a maximum weight of 220 lbs so it is perfect for teenagers and it can handle most adults. It is rated for twelve years old and up and, same as the Razor electric scooter E200, on an eight hour charge you will get about 45 minutes of ride time. It has a hand-operated rear brake and the typical twist-grip throttle.

There is a little assembly required for the Razor electric scooter E300, but like the other models it should only take around 10-15 minutes. Once you have it assembled and the battery charged, you are ready to hit the street! Unlike the previous models the E300 features a chain-driven motor but it is still very quiet, not noisy at all.

Razor Electric Scooter Conclusion

At $230 it may be the most expensive of the three but that’s because it’s the best. It’s strong, durable, speedy and easy to handle. This Razor electric scooter will provide you and your family with hours of quality fun and excitement.
